N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (500 mg) 90 veg caps NAC
A safe, effective derivative of c90 veg caps NAC Cellular Longevity – Supports Detoxification and Respiratory Function†
Benefits and Features
Promotes healthy lung tissue and respiratory function, as well as supports glutathione production to support cellular antioxidant protection and detoxification.†
Detail Overview
N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) is a dietary amino acid derivative of L-cysteine.† NAC has a high affinity for lung tissue, which supports lung function by acting as a mucolytic and antioxidant.1 NAC’s sulfur content allows it to disrupt disulfide bonds within the mucus, thinning and easing expulsion.2 Because NAC is a free radical scavenger, it promotes epithelial cell health and cilia activity in the respiratory tract.†3 NAC is also a precursor to the antioxidant glutathione, and supplemental NAC raises glutathione levels in tissues.4 Lymphocytes, which are essential components of the immune system, rely on glutathione to function properly. Tissues enriched with glutathione provide overall antioxidant protection and aid in the maintenance of a healthy immune response.†5 NAC supplementation for six months improved upper respiratory tract and immune system health, according to a multicenter, randomized, double-blind trial with 262 participants.6 A recent meta-analysis of eight double-blind, placebo-controlled trials added to the evidence that NAC can help with respiratory tract health.†7
